He has taught courses in air conditioning,heating and refrigeration since 1973. In addition to his work at theschool, Whitaker also operates Whitaker Heating, Air and Refrigerationon a part-time basis. Camden County Community College professor Ellen Freedman has beenracking up kudos for her web site that offers math assistance. MidLinkMagazine and USA Today's Education Online both recently recommended"Professor Freedman's Math Help" to readers. The sitealso was named an Academic Info Select Site earlier this year. Natalie Bryant, an eight-year veteran of the South Plains Collegefaculty, has been named Community College Educator of the Year for 2000by the Texas Speech Communication Association. Bryant, an assistantprofessor of speech at the college, was among 20 nominees statewide forthe award, which cites active participation in the association. Shehelped re, establish the college's forensics program and developedit into a top-notch competitive program with a statewide reputation forexcellence. Nancy Bredemeyer, associate professor of interior design for IndianRiver Community College Indian River Community College (IRCC) is a community college based in Fort Pierce, Florida which serves the counties of Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie. It has branch campuses in Okeeconbee, St. Lucie West in Port St. in Fort Pierce, Fla., recently received nationalrecognition as the Faculty Advisor of the Year from the American Societyof Interior Designers The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is the oldest and largest professional association for interior designers. Dr. Brenda Smith, director of choral music at Manatee CommunityCollege Manatee Community College (MCC), with the main campus based in Bradenton, Florida, is a two-year community college accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate in Arts, Associate in Applied Science and Associate in in Florida, won a Van Lawrence cash prize and fellowship forstudy abroad from an international voice foundation in recognition ofher demonstrated excellence in teaching and an active interest in voicescience and pedagogy. She will travel to Stockholm, Sweden, in May tostudy with Dr. Johan Sundberg, a world-renowned professor of musicalacoustics tat the Royal Institute of Technology.
