Their work waspart of a two-year EU project which was undertaken in collaboration withthe Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and involved collaboration with theForestry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources inBrunei, the University of Brunei Darussalam, and the Kuala BelalongField Studies Centre. Although the number of endemic species in mostparts of the total range of Aglaia is comparatively low, they found thatBorneo harbors a comparatively high proportion: l0% (6/60) are endemic(Flora Malesiana Bulletin, 14(3), p. 139, 2008).
