MTNA-Shepherd distinguished Composer of the Year named. This year's MTNA-Shepherd Distinguished Composer of the Yearis William Price for his work, Hardboiled (Red Harvest), commissioned bythe Alabama Music Teachers Association. His composition was selectedfrom among 25 works entered in this year's competition. WilliamPrice was selected by our distinguished judging panel: MTNA-ShepherdDistinguished Composer 2007 John McDonald (Tufts University), Don Freund(Indiana University) and Richard Festinger (San Francisco StateUniversity). Honorable mention was given to Jonathan McNair (KentuckyMTA) for "Digressions" for violin and piano and to ChristopherBiggs (Missouri MTA) for "[10.sup.-33]" for clarinet andcomputer.
