Ms. Flores also demonstratesglue-gun techniques, adding feathers, raffia raffia(răf`ēə)or raphia(rā`fēə), fiber obtained from the raffia palm of Madagascar, exported for various uses, such as tying up plants that require support, binding together vegetables , faux jewels and pipecleaners to enhance the masks. The video concludes with a variety ofexamples of student-made masks. This is an excellent video that usesreadily available materials to create handsome products and stimulatecreative thinking. --B.H.
