Kingsville winners announced. Yuqing Meng, a 16-year-old pianist from Madison, New Jersey Madison is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, in the United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the population was 16,530. It also is known as, "The Rose City. , wonfirst place at the 2007 Kingsville International Isabel Scionti PianoCompetition. Meng received a total of $8,500 cash and will audition withthe Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, the Victoria, Texas, SymphonyOrchestra, and the Festival de San Miguel del Allende, Mexico, forperformance engagements. Meng studies with Yoheved Kaplinsky in theJuilliard Preparatory program. Tim Zhang, 13, from Vancouver, British Columbia, won second prize,taking home $3,700. He studies with Sasha Starcevich. Third place wentto Amir Khosrowpour, 25, who studies with Phillip Kawin at the ManhattanSchool of Music Founded in 1917, the school is located on Claremont Avenue in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of New York City, adjacent to the campus of Columbia University, where it has been since 1969. Many of the students live in the school's residence hall, Andersen Hall. and was winner of the 2002 MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National AssociationMTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee)Collegiate Artist PianoCompetition. Students of Oberlin Conservatory enter a very broad network within the music world, as the school's alumni can be found in , also received third place. Winners in the Isabel Scionti Piano Solo Competitions, held inconjunction with the concerto competitions, were: Damon Meng, who wonthe junior division, and Aram Arakelyan, who won the senior division. The 26th annual competition awarded more than $22,000 in prizes toyoung pianists under 26 years old. There were more than 100 entries infour different contests.
